The key to solving this challenge lies with the diaspora.
Many of these households are unable to make a switch to solar energy – they often don’t have the available cash to buy a solar home system immediately. And they usually lack access to credit. So they continue to pay for the basics of lighting and phone charging. And they continue to miss out on all the benefits we mentioned in the ‘Opportunity’ page.
