Kumusha World offers an ‘online product bridge’ between the UK-based Zimbabwean diaspora and their family, friends and personal business projects back home in Zimbabwe.
Founder and CEO, Geoff Goss explains the origin of the business, “we saw a clear disconnect between households back in Zimbabwe’s rural areas which are most in need of reliable solar energy, and those within the diaspora who can afford to purchase a solution to the challenge, such as Solar Home Systems (‘SHS’).
Many people living in rural, off-grid areas of Zimbabwe simply do not have the cash or access to credit to be able to buy these solar energy products.Yet we know that a typical rural household spends over USD300 a year on fossil fuel lighting options and mobile phone charging. Much of this annual outlay could be saved by acquiring a solar energy asset such as a Solar Home System. We also know that many rural households have a diaspora connection.
Our online platform connects those who can afford to make a difference with those who can’t. Go to our online shop, select your products and payment option, place your order, and our strategic partners will arrange your delivery to the specified address or collection centre. Simple.
We have launched with a focus on solar energy solutions, but in due course we intend to introduce a wider set of products, all selected to further enhance life in rural Zimbabwe.”

Our initial product range extends to Solar Home Systems (‘SHS’) from two leading product suppliers, d.light solar (American) and SPARK energy (European). These products are distributed across Zimbabwe by our strategic partner, Kumusha Power.
